I've lived on Cape Cod since 1977 when I got out of the Navy and decided
to move to Provincetown to help my brother with his restaurant business. In
1994, I moved to Barnstable and have made it my home.
In 2001, if you will recall, on Thursday nights there was an annual street
fair that ran for about four years. It brought a lot of good attention to
Hyannis - I am very proud to say, I started that event. It has brought a lot
of new business to Main Street along with a lot of fun for families and individuals
alike.
More recently, I petitioned Senator O'Leary to crack down on insurance companies
ripping off Cape Cod home owners. He and others have been working on this
issue, but there is still much work to be done. Also, there is much work to
be done in other areas. Improvements can be made within our education system,
public transportation, health care system and in many other areas that affect
our lives and livelihoods.
I have decided that I should run for State Representative in the 2nd Barnstable
District so I can help address these and many other pressing issues.
I am for a "strong" economy that everyone can benefit from, and
if elected as State Representative, I will work every day to gain your complete
confidence and trust. I am a firm believer that everyone in the Cape Cod community
should be represented to the fullest extent ... with the economy in the condition
it is now in, I realize how hard it is for many Cape Codders to get by. I
am one of you, and am determined to not allow partisan politics to stand in
the way of real solutions to everyday problems we Cape Codders face.
Help me work for you and vote Independent on November 4, 2008.
Thank you and God Bless!,
Carl D. Yingling
